Well, I am temporally inside the

Or I should say badger heaven. Andrew was kind enough to send me two great brushes to try, the Simpsons Chubby 2 in 2-band super badger, and the Plisson HMW 2-band, size 12. I will be testing both with MWF, MdC, and a few creams. Initial looks, touch, feel (fondling if you will) tells me the Plisson will be better for applying paint (back and forth) type strokes while the Chubby 2 will be best served using in a circular motion.

I assured my wife this morning that these two beauties were just on loan. But I'm pretty sure someday I will have to own both.

I will report my opinions when I'm through testing.

THANK YOU ANDREW!!!

A two band CH2 has been in my sights for a bit.

I'm looking forward to reading your experience with it and MdC.

First let me say a BIG THANK YOU to Andrew for letting me try these two brushes. Poor folk like me generally never get a chance to try such nice brushes. I will be returning these to Andrew tomorrow.

I rotated these two brushes using the same soaps and routine each time so I could compare them to my style of shaving and to not have anything interfere with the brush itself.

Day one and two I used MdC, Schick I2 with Schick blade, Sara Bonnyman Bowl, and Alt Innsbruck.

Both brushes loaded about the same direct from the MdC soap with a slight edge going to the Chubby 2. Building my lather in the bowl, the edge would go to the Plisson 12 as it has the longer loft and does not have near the backbone as the Chubby 2.

When applying the lather to my face the Chubby 2 did a better job when using a circular motion and the Plisson did a better job when using a back and forth painting motion. Surprising to me was the Plisson seemed to have more scritch to it than the Chubby 2 did. Actually the Chubby 2 was very soft.

Day three and four I used MWF, Schick I2 with Schick blade, Sara Bonnyman Bowl, and Floid Blue. As with the MdC, I loaded each brush direct from the MWF then built my lather in the bowl.

Again both brushes loaded about the same with the Chubby 2 taking larger amounts of soap with each swirl. The results in applying the lather to my face were about the same as when I used the MdC.

Both brushes felt good in my hands and provided me with a lather experience that I've only come close to a couple of times in my life. I went in to this fully expecting the Plisson to be my favorite as I really enjoy using my Plisson EW 10, but I was wrong. The Chubby 2 gave me a more satisfying experience. Maybe it was the shorter loft, larger knot, and more backbone, I'm not sure.

Both brushes loaded with ease and built great lather. Neither was a soap hog and provided me with more than enough lather to complete my shaves.

Now, saying all of this, I would not buy either of these two brushes. They are two large for me. I just prefer a smaller brush. So, someday if the stars line up correctly, I will own a Plisson HMW 10 and a Simpsons Duke 3 2-Band Super Badger.

Thanks again Andrew, you are a true gentleman.

Thanks for your inputs about those two shaving brushes.
I havent tried the Chubby 2 super badger two band , but Im sure I will use it before than the Plisson HMW 2 band , any day of the week. The Plisson is kind of scritchy for me , and pay premium for a scritchy tip brush is not mi ideal.
