I’ve sort of tried the Excelsior base. As far as I can tell it’s quite good.

Here’s the story...I bought a jar of Diamond the day it was released. Not that it matters, but it’s my favorite B&M scent. It really does smell like the game of baseball. This year’s version is made with the Excelsior base. Anyway,,, The first batch of (a few dozen?) jars went out to (one that I know of) a retailer, with only one layer of scent added to the soap. I didn't even realize it because I just took the new jar and put it in storage until my old jar was finished. A week later I got an email from Will, sent I’m guessing to his and/or the retailer’s mailing list, explaining the faux pas. Customers who received an inappropriately scented product were advised to contact the retailer for a replacement. We could keep or toss the “wrong” jar at our discretion. This was done on the honor system, btw. Neither the manufacturer or the retailer wanted the old jar back, so I mixed what was left of my original jar of Diamond (White Label base, maybe?) in with the one-layer-scented product. So now, I have two full jars of Diamond, one at full strength scent (the Excelsior base replacement), and the other, less than fully scented (now ~75%:25%, Excelsior:White Label), but I would add, still smells like baseball.

Sorry for the hijack. GLWTS!

Yes. I was getting uncooked pretzel dough. There’s no trace of it now. Just baseball.
