Just a great band. Writing and musicianship on par with the best rock music has to offer. I include FM on a short list of favorite rock singers. But that’s a whole ‘nother thread. IMO ymmv, etc.

+1. I thought going in it would be “corny” but was pleasantly surprised.

Wikipedia is helpful in that respect.
A great movie, nevertheless. And truly great music.

I saw the movie in the theater. Rami Malek was amazing. You almost couldn't tell the difference. The recreation of Live Aid was incredible.

Yes, “almost“ being the key word. While you can tell that Malek studied/mimicked Freddie, and did it very, very well, he was after all, just copying the original. Just look at the way they swagger and move around the stage. It’s natural for Freddie, not so for Rami. Buuuut, I sure can’t do that! And yes, yes, yes! The Live Aid recreation was simply amazing.

Agreed. There will never be another Freddie. He did copy the original, and the copy is never a good as the original. But did a good job. I can't do it either so don't feel bad. Never could.
