Tried them all. Own pretty much all of them and my favorite is still the 'The Tip' from Milton.

And now they are double the price and I guess won’t be sold at the Oumo store after those sell out. Alina tells me that AP Shave will have the exclusive on these again. I guess they paid for the exclusive. In the meantime, I got 3 of the 28mm, 1) 26mm and 1) 24mm at the lower prices they had before the increase. Wish I had ordered a couple more 26mm.

For those that are buying multiples of these knots (or other knots from China), is it mostly about QC concerns to make sure you end up with at least one good one, such as if one of the knots is a dud? I've never turned a handle or assembled a separate knot and handle myself so I'm probably discounting the fun that goes into it, I've always just figured that I don't really need 2 of the same knot knowing that I rotate brushes and don't really see one brush ever truly wearing out.

I'm guessing you're in the US? For me the prices are still the same as mentioned in an earlier post. But I'm in Europe so I guess that's why.

Regarding Quality Control, Oumobrush is pretty reliable and only delivers high quality. They even started turning their own handles (acrylic and acrylic with wood) and will even customize it for you.

I was baffled to see Oumo even sell the hooked tips at all for US/Canada buyers but I presume that ApShave Co. must have complained because he did have full exclusivity. Interestingly enough he still doesn't offer the 26mm while it was available at Oumo for a while.

Yep, I’m kicking myself for only getting one 26mm from Oumo!

What do you guys think the longevity is like on these knots? I got the SHD Manchuria that looks a bit less treated then the Gelousy so I'm hoping for the best. Also, has anyone noticed that some of the hairs dislodge, in that they are still connected to the knot but are elevated above the rest of the hairs? I'm used to the knot just shedding, but I haven't lost a single hair in 5 lathers, they just elevate.

I have to say that I still prefer the SHD HandMaster (formerly Finest) over the SHD Hook knots that I got from Oumo. I got a 24mm, 26mm and 28mm and they are great but I think the Handmasters may be the better knot for the price.

Moderator Note:  Link to website not affiliated with TSN removed.

Although I'm not convinced the V1 Tip knot isn't one of the older, less dense, Oumo knots with a different treatment. I believe Oumo stopped selling them around them time Milton started, and his versions have since become denser. I've actually messaged the Oumo rep for clarification, assuming she could say.

Edit: She can't say.
