It feels to me like the air has gone out of what promised to be a terrific celebration of Simpsons' 100th anniversary. The year began with a flurry of excitement- new, colourful rod stocks, new things like the M7 in synthetic fibre, the special edition Astor, etc. Every week it seemed something new and intriguing dropped. But for the past few months there's been very little apart from new creams that are in the works and some Colonels and Dukes with a commemorative coin. Not that I could afford one, but remember the stirling silver Chubby that was coming?

I love Simpsons. I own 9 or 10 of them. All grades of hair. I did my part by purchasing a synthetic M7, a synthetic Chubby 2, and an M7 in Manchurian this year to celebrate. I just thought there would have been a lot of fireworks all the year through. I pray that all is well for our friends on the Isle of Man.

I check the Simpson Facebook page periodically, as well as their website.  There has been a steady release of new products throughout the year.  Perhaps the new releases have not been at the same pace as earlier in the year, but I still see regular new releases.

Simpson occupies a special place in the shaving brush world, and I hope all continues well for the company.

I don't think we've seen it yet... Correct me if I'm wrong I have not been able to purchase any brushes this year but none of the new resins were marked 100 years right? I'm still holding out for the 'wow' myself and anticipate something special

Hi guys,

Still here! Been a busy year for me away from shaving brushes.

A lot of time has been taken up developing our new Alexander Simpson Est. 1919 soft goods products.

I’m also the father of three boys who are at the age that take up a lot of parenting (if that age ever changes!). In addition to this I’ve been involved in some property development.

Our business is really small despite what people may think. I’m the first point of contact, the General Manager, marketing wizard (ha - I wish!), social media guy, R&D fella, finance & admin dude, etc etc

I honestly think a lot of guys in the shaving space think Simpson is a multi-layered corporation on a par with a company like Muhle in Germany (who employ over 150+). We are nothing like that! We’re a tiny family business trying to keep the good name of a company moving forward.

100 years is great & we are still trickling product out. Thank you to all that have looked & purchased :0)

Mark

And it's been summer... not only blazing hot, but with three boys not in school I know what I would prioritise; Family First Smile

There was the 100 anniversary Astor, of course. Not sure if it is still available. 100 years is an amazing length of time for any company and the rich history of Simpson makes it most definitely, the most iconic name in shave brushes. I have NEVER had a bad Simpson and I have owned (and still do) quite a few. Good luck Mark to you, your family and to the next 100 years of your company.

I already posted this to the Simpson Synthetic thread, but it is probably a better fit here.

Some very nice  Chubby 2 synthetics "Centenary Edition" are now available on the Simpsons website.  I just bought a Sunspot Orange.

Glad to see smaller brushes being offered for the 100 year celebration, the recent Colonel for instance.  Haven't seen my preferred and likely won't, but enjoy checking in to see what's available.
