We first imported Pitralon aftershaves about 5 years ago and, they continue to sell steadily. That said, we won't be importing anymore. With a minimum order of 1500 bottles, it is a bit of a logistical nightmare. We had to arrange for ocean freight to the East Coast, a train ride across the United States to San Pedro and then finally, a truck with a lift gate to deliver the goods to my shop. Once delivered, the pallet was too large to actually fit through the door so, it had to be broken down in the parking lot and then brought into the shop a few boxes at a time. We imported it twice and that is probably enough.

Today, we finally sold out of Pitralon Classic (German). We sold out of Pitralon Polar last winter. We are down to our last 59 bottles of Pitralon Pure and have maybe 190 bottles of Swiss Pitralon remaining. I guess all good things come to an end.

In case you were wondering what 1500 bottles of aftershave looks like, here are a few shots from the last shipment.

Clearly you need a wider door... Tongue

I can see the logistical nightmare, and all good things must come to an end... and I'm guessing this also frees up shelf space for other things Wink

Looks like a display case, do you have a retail location now?

That was from a couple of years ago. I dumped the display case last summer. It is a commercial space but, on-line only.

The Classic is a very nice aftershave, and my favorite in the Pitralon line.  I don't see the business sense in requiring such an absurdly large minimum order.

I really have been enjoying my bottles of pitralon. Sad to see it go dodo.

Oh well, I could buy more than I could store

Or

I could just wait as the next one will be the best one of them all.

So many splashes only one face.

So does this mean that when I come to L.A. to see a Yankees-Dodgers World Serious game this autumn I won’t be able to visit my favorite shave shop?

I can always give you a quick tour if I know you are coming. That said, the Yankees have to get past the Astros first.

Seems like all good things come to an end and then can be replaced by other best in show products.
Looking forward to what you think is a good replacement.

While you are all competitor's do you ever discuss a group buy for an overseas purchase like this? When stateside someone breaks it down and ships smaller batches? By competitors I mean you, Maggards. ToC and WCS plus anyone else I missed. I assume you all have the same issues with foreign purchases.

That’s why baseball is so much fun over the long haul.

I used to wholesale Pitralon to Maggard and WCS but, if we split it evenly, you are still talking about 500 bottles of aftershave each. Whoever took shipment of the pallet would still have to jump through all of the hoops and then ship a very heavy shipment to the others. The entire pallet weighed around 1000 lbs.
