Has anyone heard of (or perhaps own) a "Sahara" German vintage razor from around the 50's?
Apparently they also made razorblades. Can't find any further info on this brand at all.

Waits' Compendium have an entry, that I'll quote in full:
Quote:Sahara (Gold)
Edmund Bergfeld & Sohn, Solingen-Ohligs, Germany. (Trade name on 1932 list.)

In other words, next to nothing Sad

A trawl on Google Image Search don't show much either:

(made in Czechoslovakia - so might be the wrong factory or outsourced production)

Interesting, that's something at least. Thanks, my Google Fu is weak.

They don't seem to mention DE razors, lots of history about the company but the discussion is only regarding straight razors and blades (and scissors). This reminds me of my recent attempt at documenting the history of Swing razors, some info about the blades, very little about the razors. Apparently Sahara (actually Edmund Bergfeld & Sohn) switched from blades to straight razors after WWII because Gillette threatened Solingen based DE blade manufacturers with patent rights.
