I use both.  Short strokes on my face at a faster pace.  Longer strokes at a slower pace on my neck and just below the jaw line.  Works for me.

Me too, both.
Short / fast in the three regular passes.
Long / slow in the touch-ups.

The razor determines that for me, for the most part. GEM SE very short strokes. AC SE short strokes. DE longer strokes.
Str8 is a mix of all strokes.

Short around the ears, mouth and under the nose. Long on my cheeks and under the sideburns next to the ears straight down to the jaw line. Medium under the jaw and chin, and neck.

Funny, I am at the opposite.

I use short strok in my trouble area on my neck and medium stork for the rest of the neck!

Interesting to see all those technique!

Long on the side of my face, shorter on the neck, very short around the Adam's apple.

When I shave daily, I use longer strokes.
When I shave every other day or third day, I use shorter strokes for obvious reasons.

But I generally use longer j-hook like strokes on my cheek and on my lower neck area.

Btw I’m a dedicated cart shaver since dumping all my DE and SE razors in 2015-2016

I had to think for a second on this one. I use both... longer slower strokes on my cheeks and the sides of my neck. Short, faster strokes around the Adam's apple and mouth.

Short strokes. I tend to keep a lighter  and more even pressure when doing light strokes.

I looked in that daily shave log I've mentioned before, I make note of my strokes every few days, not daily and that has changed over time,  longer and slower now than it was in the early days and I almost never need touch ups anymore,  more like never. Not sure why.

Both here too. Short if it's a two day or so growth, the some longer strokes. Shorter strokes and more bugging strokes below the jawline, but nothin is set in stone, as they say.

I thought I used both, but after close inspection of my routine - it’s primarily long strokes. The reason appears to be a reduction in blade to face time. E.G., when I use short strokes, I’m more likely to buff the area.
