I just received an email from my shipping software that there will soon be a new alternative for shipping international parcels called GlobalPost with two levels of service (Economy and Standard). It sounds really encouraging and may be a necessity if the United States withdraws from the Universal Postal Union next month.

They claim that the rates will be competitive, that they will insure the parcels and that flat rate shipping will be an option. They also claim that the parcels will not require customs forms. I'll take a wait and see approach until the rates are announced but, it is definitely worth exploring.

I hope this turns out to be a viable option for BullGoose.  If I was a vendor, I would only use an international shipping option with reliable tracking.  Otherwise, you will get a chargeback every time a buyer claims he didn't receive his goods, even if you prove you mailed them.

Yes, that is the way to do it. Hopefully it is a reasonably priced service. I am curious to see how the process works.

DHL is pricey, but excellent and quick for international shipping.

There will some changes though as the US will be able to set self-declared rates for distributing foreign mail from July 2020. The end-customer will definitely end up paying higher prices at some point.

Yes but, it is also extremely expensive. It costs around $50 to ship a razor. They also charge a brokerage fee for clearing customs if I recall correctly.

I once received a razor in 3 days from the US to Greece. Really fast!

Not sure that USPS is the problem, the problem I think, and I am dumber than a box of rocks, is the PayPal requirement for tracked delivery.  Or is it UPS minimum is a pound?

DHL is absolutely not reliable. I’ve had more lost and misdelivered packages with DHL than all others combined times 100. Not a usable service.
