Thanks for letting me join your community! I bought my hubby a MERKUR double edge safety razor and all the accessories for Father’s Day 3 years ago. I’m wanting to switch up his oil, aftershave and soap and came here looking for suggestions. He loves his razor and he’s still chipping away at the blade variety pack I got him. Looking forward to reading thru the posts and gaining some more knowledge to pamper my hubby a little for Christmas!

Welcome! If he (and you) enjoy nice scents, I recommend Chatillon Lux aftershaves. Very classy.

Nice!  A lady!  Welcome and feel free to ask questions. There are a lot of helpful folks here and we are weirdos about fancy creams and lotions.

Welcome aboard from another Michigander.  There are so many great soaps and products, and scents are so subjective to personal taste.  Being you are from Michigan, you might want to get him a gift certificate to Maggard's if they are not too far from you and take him there.  The good thing is that it is a relatively local place with a fairly extensive inventory.  You can smell the products first hand to get a better idea of the things you both may like.  Reading descriptions online can be tough sometimes if you are not a fragrance expert and the folks there are very helpful.  Maybe grab a lunch or dinner when in town and just enjoy the day together.

Welcome from SE Michigan - I'd second Steve's Maggard's recommendation, it is definitely nice to be able to take a whiff of what you might be buying

I just looked up how far we are from Maggard’s and it’s about an hour and a half away. Making an afternoon of it sounds like something we’d do. Thanks for the suggestion!

Welcome to the forum. Please post a few photos of your trip to Maggard's, as well as a photo of what he decided to get. I wish I were only an hour and a half away from Maggard's as it would be fun to smell the roses before picking one.

We are about the same distance being from Oakland County and my one son and I have gone to the Maggard's meet for the past 3 years.  It is nice because they have refreshments, vouchers for lunch, give aways, samples, a PIF table, and you can meet some really nice folks and vendors.  Even some of the online guys show up and the staff is very helpful.  It really is worth going to the meet if you can make it.  I think this year it is the end of May.
