Gents,

If you are looking to try a new soap, I personally think that Zingari Nomad in the Sego Base is worth a look.

ITS AWESOME!

I just had a ridiculous shave...I just kept thinking to myself throughout the entire shave “Beautiful...Beautiful!”  It produced an incredible lather...extremely dense, protective, and slick.  The residual slickness was off of the charts, and I do value residual slickness!

The Nomad fragrance is not overpowering, but also not overly muted, and it smelled of Lime and Bay Rum.  I liked it quite a bit!

Equipment:

Soap:  Zingari Nomad in the Sego Base

Brush:  Semogue TSN LE Boar

Bowl:  Large Singing Bowl

Razor:  Carbon Shaving Co

Blade:  Wilkinson Light Brigade on its third go

Aftershave:  Shave Tonic

Post-Shave Serum:  Sebum Lime

Results:  Superior Irritation Free BBS

So I loaded the damp boar brush on the puck for 20-25 seconds, and this was the result!

While lathering this joker easily took a whopping SIX tsp of water!  The lather was fantastic, and it was so dense that you can see the brush stuck in a diagonal in these pictures!  It wouldn’t fall over, and was just sort of stuck there!

My pleasure Richard! This soap may make my top five after I use it some more, and get to know it better!

Like I said in the other thread, it is on another level. I had the same reaction you had when I saw the first lather I was creating.

I highly suggested that you try it without any post shave product eventually so you can feel how amazing the post shave feel is on its own!

I bought the Wanderer and it is a fantastic scent!

Thanks Ricardo! Yes...I think perhaps next time a 10-15 second load would be quite adequate!

Thanks Shawn! My personal opinion is that it’s worth the price of admission.

I still can’t believe it took six tsp of distilled water!

I am normally more of a splash guy, but the Zingari balms are some of the very best on the market.  She has a tallow balm in her Sego line and a non tallow version also.  Both are excellent.

I was looking at their soap options.  The ones that tempt me are "The Prophet" and "The Muse".  Has anyone tried those soaps?

The sheen of the lather and the fact that the soap is described as "thirsty" both make sense when you look at the ingredients list.  There is a LOT of glycerin in the soap.  That's why it wants so much water.  Glycerin-heavy soaps often also have that "Greek yogurt" consistency and nice shine to their lather.

A lot of people really like this type of lather (I'm one of them) but there is a group of wet-shavers who much prefer the lather from soaps with very little to no added glycerin.

If I weren't on a buying moratorium, I would be all over this soap.  I like pretty much everything about the ingredients list.
