I recently acquired a tube of this as part of a trade with another member here and tried it for the first time this weekend. This stuff if freaking awesome!

It's on point in all the right places...the scent is a very pleasing fresh scent, the cushion and slickness are incredible, the menthol gives a nice chill to the face, and for a $7 USD price point you really can't go wrong here.

While I regret not trying this one sooner, I'm glad to have found it now. Great cream all around!

I was able to try a sample of this from a friend who loves it. Very slick stuff, and it feels like you just dove face-first into a snow drift.

It's one of my top-favorite creams. It's a true, beautiful face-freezer.

I tried it a couple times and liked it better than old Proraso formula. If you like menthol creams this is a must try.

Teiste, how does it compare to the new Proraso formula?

Funny thing is that I've always seen it out there and considered it to be pedestrian. I guess here in the States the only Palmolive product I know is their dish soap and I guess for some reason when I've looked at the shaving cream, I thought of the dish soap and moved on.

How wrong I was...

Dave,

I have the new formulation in the tub (green), so while not a direct cream to cream comparison, I would say that I prefer the Palmolive over the Proraso (new or old). The Palmolive has a stronger menthol kick, the scent is better, and I find it to be much slicker than the Proraso. Also, with my hard water I can get a much better lather out of the Palmolive than I can out of the Proraso.

I'm not much of a cream user, mostly soaps, but Italian Palmolive is good stuff. It's one of those products I wonder why I don't use it more. I'll have to use it tomorrow. Thanks for the reminder.

Yes,those are my thoughts too. I admit that Im not a bog menthol fan but I enjoy menthol once in a while (maybe tomorrow Ill shave with SMN).
The Palmolive has a nicer scent and the slickness is very high too.

I really want to like menthol shaving creams. I think there's something in it that makes my face irritated. It happened to me every time I used Proraso.

I don't think that is too uncommon. You might try something like Mike's Natural Soaps rosemary & peppermint; something with peppermint oil has a nice cooling effect, but there is no menthol added.

I also think this is the best tube cream I've tried. It seems to fly under the radar a little but it's awesome.

I think I've only used my tube once. I should break this out for my next shave.

I thought this to be the case for me as well but I gave Ingrams a try and no problems.
I suspect it's the eucalyptus oil that is the culprit in Proraso cream.

Hey Johnny Cool

How would you compare the original Palmolive with this regarding quality of the cream, not so much the scent, as one is the classic Palmolive scent and the other is menthol based - but more with regards to overall shaving capabilities and such Huh

I can't find a place that sells the Palmolive menthol cream, but http://www.connaughtshaving.com has the original in stock.......

Thanks in advance !

TO ALL OTHER POSTERS IN THIS THREAD !

Where can you get this Palmolive Menthol edition ?
I can only find the classic Palmolive online, not the Menthol edition Confused Blush

Thanks Smile

Thanks Jeff,

I live in Denmark - don't know shipping cost from Canada to Denmark, but I would imagine shipping a $7 tube of Palmolive to Denmark would end up costing me $45, when shipping expenses and tax/vat + the handling fee of $25 has been added is a little bit over the top, when the cream is made in my neighbor country, Germany Biggrin
