I have been working with Vie-Long on a brush that will be exclusive to BullGoose Shaving Supplies dubbed the BG2012LE. The brush will come with four knot choices:

1) Silvertip Badger (25mm diameter and 50mm loft) extra stuffed for added backbone.

2) Horse/Badger Mix (25mm diameter and 50mm loft)

3) Horse Hair -Badger Imitation (25mm diameter and 55mm loft)

4) Horse Hair -brown/unbleached (25mm diameter and 55mm loft)

Pictured is the prototype for the brown horse hair brush. I have been using it for the past few weeks and find it has really good backbone and is a very versatile brush, handling both creams and hard soaps with ease.

The handle for these brushes is a hand turned resin handle that is very substantial feeling and that can go toe to toe with any brush maker. The handle on the production run will have a little more curve to it but this will give you a general idea.

I hope to have them in stock in about two weeks.

That's a good looking handle. I've never experienced a horse hair brush but this one has me interested.

On my wish list and looking forward to see a tweet or post about the arrival and listing for sale.

I am taken with the appearance of the brush handle.

Phil, is there any chance to add Vie-Long's 2-band like E16510 to your LE selection?

Nice variation on the beehive handle. Count me in for option 1 (silver tip badger).

I am glad to see you here Ben and look forward to your brush pictures. Biggrin The production run of the Vie-Long Bee-Hive brushes will have a little more girth and curve but they should be very nice. I need to get in touch with Vie-Long to see if there is an ETA...they should be ready soon.

It is a looker for sure. I've not yet tried a horse hair but I'm thinking hard on the matter.

Do you know the mane/tail mix for the horse knots? Note that you probably can't answer that question in a way that would prevent me from buying one.

Oh: will the brush receive the name of a famous bull? A Zurito from BullGoose was my first horse brush.

Option #4 is on my list. I've been looking at beehives and unbleached horse (I love my Zurito, btw) and now I can have both Smile

I found the Zurito to be too floppy for my tastes.

The Sardinero suits my tastes much more. The shorter lost really helps.

However, of the currently available ones (on BG shaving), the Peleon is my favourite. Everything about the knot is great. I don't like the handle, though.

Looking forward to these BG LE's.

It does bend a bit, but it's one of my favorite brushes. And my all-time favorite handle. And always on sale!
