Actually, B3 knots are available at request for B7 pricing. He has plenty, no $1000 custom needed.

Am I selling a knot? Thanks guys for completely trashing my thread. This place is really going down the tubes.

happydaze, I was trying to help (not trash) you but they are correct and it is absolutely germane to this discussion. Were my statement regarding B3 knot availability accurate, the current $220 retail pricing would be a moot issue (given there is no new equivalent from the manufacturer) therefore making it "vintage". However, as B3 knots are substitutable, by rule you need modify your retail price to reflect MSRP. This is clearly a standing policy on this forum for better or worse. There are other fora and private FB groups where this policy does not apply. But again, was in no way trying to hurt you nor your sale.

Isn’t MSRP $280 for a full DG brush, irrespective of knot? What am I missing here?

$220
Those are legacy prices and I have not seen a brush for sale through those links in quite some time. A knot alone is $184 plus shipping. DG prices have increased over the years as suggested by current offerings which to me more accurately reflect MSRP. $265 for a 28mm DG is not unreasonable. Don’t you guys have anything better to do?

Sir! You're being disingenuous. B3's are still available and they don't cost what you say they cost and you didn't pay what you said you paid.

Like the man said, "Sellers wishing to turn a profit should sell on Ebay, a similar auction site, or their own website."

Gentlemen, the BST price cannot exceed the retail price paid by the selling member. The only exception is vintage items, which must be out of production for at least five years. This is not a vintage item, so the maximum price is what the seller paid for it. What similar offerings from DG are going for today does not matter.
The tone of this thread is troubling, so it will be closed. The seller is encouraged to list the item again, stating what he paid for the brush, as required by the BST rules.
