Yesterday was one of those very rare, two shave days. In 47 years of shaving I may have done so about a half dozen times, certainly no more than that. Normally, I shave in the evening for the following day. The night before last I was wiped out, and just didn’t have the energy or focus to shave. Wound up passing out around 9:30. So yesterday morning I obviously needed a shave pretty badly. Love the morning shave, btw. It normally takes too long though, as I like to linger. Regardless, I did a quick shave in the morning (6:30, ugh!!) with a synthetic brush and a GC .68 for a quick and easy shave. Then last evening I decided to get back on my work week schedule and shaved again. Same razor and blade, different brush and soap.

I’m curious. Do other shavers often shave twice in one day, or is it a pretty rare occurrence for most, as it is for me?

I have a nephew who could shave every hour, his heair grows fast and is super coarse. He has a partial beard and "cleans up" 2x a day.

Sure wish the hair on my head grew like that!

Once a year for special occasions and poor morning shave, I will do a 5:00 shave.

More common but not frequent, is 5:00 shave because I missed the morning shave. I still shave the next morning.

I have course dark fast growing hair. If I have an event at night, I will come in for a quick shave. That second shave though is usually with a sensor excel, and only a 2 pass wWTG shave.

It happens probably a couple dozen times a year.

I shave my head and face, but only once, each, every day. My shaves are usually quite close from the morning that it isn't necessary to do another shave in the evening even if I have an event.

I've only shaved twice in a day when I have to go to a wedding reception or something like that.  My hair is so dark, that even after a BBS shave, it looks like I have 5 o'clock shadow.

Wow, that’s significant! Despite shaving to BBS, shadow remains. Have you ever had razor burn from trying to shave too closely?

Yes that happens sometimes. I am of Asian Indian origin and have dark tough hair with relatively light skin.

That’s something I’ve never done, shave in the evening and again the next morning. To date, all of my two shave days have come after a day with no shave.

That was my beard at one time, course and dark. Now it’s course and grey/white. It seems that the loss of pigment has made my whiskers wiry/harder/less pliable.

Celestino and Snuff, how much more time does the head shave add to your daily shave ritual?

Charlie, three barbers with a lot of experience shaving customers have told me that grey beard hairs are always thicker and wirier.

I always thought otherwise.

Back when I was working I'd have to on occasion.  I had a career in contract sales. Business to business,  commodities and services.  Point being it was a suit and tie job.  I was active in a few chambers of commerce etc. and if there was an after hours mixer or event I'd  have another go. Though not as apparent as some the 5 o'clock shadow was there. I kept a disposable razor and a little travel size can of foam in my car.

Thanks. That’s just a little bit quicker than my face shave which is ~5 minutes for 2 passes. I like to linger Smile
