Yesterday was one of those very rare, two shave days. In 47 years of shaving I may have done so about a half dozen times, certainly no more than that. Normally, I shave in the evening for the following day. The night before last I was wiped out, and just didn’t have the energy or focus to shave. Wound up passing out around 9:30. So yesterday morning I obviously needed a shave pretty badly. Love the morning shave, btw. It normally takes too long though, as I like to linger. Regardless, I did a quick shave in the morning (6:30, ugh!!) with a synthetic brush and a GC .68 for a quick and easy shave. Then last evening I decided to get back on my work week schedule and shaved again. Same razor and blade, different brush and soap.
I’m curious. Do other shavers often shave twice in one day, or is it a pretty rare occurrence for most, as it is for me?

Wow, that’s significant! Despite shaving to BBS, shadow remains. Have you ever had razor burn from trying to shave too closely?

Yes that happens sometimes. I am of Asian Indian origin and have dark tough hair with relatively light skin.

More common but not frequent, is 5:00 shave because I missed the morning shave. I still shave the next morning.

It seems that the loss of pigment has made my whiskers wiry/harder/less pliable.
It happens probably a couple dozen times a year.

Celestino and Snuff, how much more time does the head shave add to your daily shave ritual?

Charlie, three barbers with a lot of experience shaving customers have told me that grey beard hairs are always thicker and wirier.

Back when I was working I'd have to on occasion. I had a career in contract sales. Business to business, commodities and services. Point being it was a suit and tie job. I was active in a few chambers of commerce etc. and if there was an after hours mixer or event I'd have another go. Though not as apparent as some the 5 o'clock shadow was there. I kept a disposable razor and a little travel size can of foam in my car.

I timed my head shave today, 4 minutes (2 passes)
Thanks. That’s just a little bit quicker than my face shave which is ~5 minutes for 2 passes. I like to linger
