Gents,

Lately I have been assessing where I am at with my favorite shave soaps and creams, so I figured it would be fun to do another top 10 list!

My top six favorite shave soap/cream brands in order are:

1.  Sebum Gold
2.  Eufros
3.  Santa Maria Novella
4.  Martin De Candre
5.  Long Rifle Soap Company
6.  Nuavia

Rounding out the top 10 (not in order) would be:

7.  Old Spice
8.  Ralph Lauren Safari
9.  I Coloniali Mango
10.  Haslinger (Tallow)

Soaps 7-10 unfortunately have all been discontinued.

The performance on all of these soaps and creams is absolutely wonderful, and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them!

Honorable mentions would have to go to following soapers/bases:  Stirling Soap Company, Declaration Grooming MilkSteak, Zingari Sego, and Wholly Kaw Siero.  These soaps have some fantastic performance as well!

Side Note:  the best smelling soap that I have ever smelled was the Soap Commander Limited Edition Rose.  The fragrance is 100% that of a freshly cut rose.

I am glad that soap lasts a really long time!

Vr

Matt

Just a top 3 from me, any more are superfluous.

1. Speick
2. La Toja
3. Haslinger Schafmilch

It would appear you've found the most expensive products suit you best, nothing wrong in that but thankfully for my wallet I found the opposite  Biggrin

Nope...nothing wrong with being on either end of the spectrum, and it’s just soap...note...Long Rifle Soap Co is pretty inexpensive. LR uses organic tallow though, and it is incredibly creamy, protective, and slick. The two LR soaps I have also smell great!

Speick is certainly an awesome classic...hits on all cylinders!

I used to make these Top 10 lists all the time here on The Nook.

For some reason I've lost my Top 10 list passion  Tongue

But my favourite soaps in my collection is CRSW, B&M, MDC, LPL, Sapo Varesino, Jabonman, Czech & Speak, Valobra, Tabac soap, Tabula Rasa and Mike's Natural - and in no particular order.
I have so many soaps, that I don't think I'll live long enough to be able to use up what I already have in my collection.

My wife said I have enough soaps for the rest of my life and I pointed out:
10 soaps last 5 years!

I'll mention the two that are noticeably ahead in my den:

MdC
Declaration/L&L bison base

I own six of your favorites, Matt, so we've got similar tastes!

Excellent! Yes...speaking of MDC...every time I use it I think, “Why do I use anything else?” The same holds true with my 1946-47 Gillette Aristocrat! What a marvelous shaver!

The blank tub is Oleo Isidro, no markings on the sides for this brand.

I have Flying Mango (4.3) and have read folks like SV 4.3 better than 4.1 (Tundra Artica).  For whatever reason I find Tundra Artica more slick and any difference in lather quality is utterly lost on me.  So TA is the top SV soap.

My list has been very stable: CRSW (glide or select), Mike’s, Wholly Kaw, Saponificio Varesino (4.3) - with a nod towards declaration grooming & Shannon’s soaps.

I generally hate doing these lists. I've probably filled out a hundred or more. Today's list might not look nothing like my list a month or a year from now.

1.  Sē'bŭm Gold, Green, Blue, Latte, Lime, and Mandarin Holiday have topped my list for the past couple of months, and I don't see that changing any time soon.
2.  Grooming Dept
3.  JabonMan Eufros
4.  Saponificio Varesino
5.  D.R. Harris
6.  Czech & Speake
7.  Mike's Natural (has been on my list since 2013)
8.  Castle Forbes
9.  La Savonnière du Moulin
10.Dragonsbeard

I was actually thinking about giving SV another shot yesterday since lathering technique has changed! That is likely going to push me over the edge!

Hi Richard,
In your opinion which of the Sebum soaps in your collection would you rate as the best overall performer.I have the green and lime and looking to add more to my den.
Thank you,
Dominick
