I read in one description that there is a "wet concrete" note in Fresh Vetiver (TF Grey Vetiver).
Thoughts?

That's really the reason I didn't pick it up (yet) Smile

Charlie,
I have the Green Vetiver.
In the soap, I get a dry tobacco/leather scent with some notes to help (but honestly no vetiver).
In the aftershave, I get what you'd expect from something called "Green Vetiver". It's vetiver... On the "bright" half but not sparkling, and I appreciate it.

Nero, there is no 'wet concrete' note or accord in the TF Grey Vetiver to my nose.

It may be the best office scent out there for a 'reasonable' price due to longevity [8 hours], doesn't over-project, all season usability, and very a "classy" blend. ... A bright, fresh vetiver per Fine's naming is apropos - a perfect fit. The Fine Fresh AFS is a near perfect match for the EDP. If you like the AFS, I am confident you will like the Grey Vetiver. Agree. I get fresh, citrus opening followed by a nice, cologne-ish Vetiver. My wife loves it.

I didn’t realize fine had tallow in it, that’s good to hear. What tallow soap is this most similar to, performance-wise?

The reviews I've seen and read say the performance is similar to Tabac.

I love Fine products. I have Green V, American B, and Lavender. After shave and soaps are amazing. Aquamarine should be coming out any day now and will get some.

They have a really good variety of scents... copies of well-loved, time-tested colognes:
Acqua di Parma
Creed Aventus
Hermes Eau d'Orange Verte
AoS Sandalwood
YSL Rive Gauche
Czech & Speake's Oxford & Cambridge
Guerlain Vetiver
Tom Ford Grey Vetiver

That's a pretty all-star lineup, I'd say.

They lather like crazy, and give great shaves.

Anyone try these out?
I agree wholeheartedly.  99% of my soaps are triple milled, it's what I prefer.  Fine does a great job, I think, with matching the fragrances and the soaps, the ones I have, are very good. As far as having both a/s and soap I have the Fresh Vetiver, the Lavender pour Homme and the Green Vetiver.  Aftershaves only I have American Blend and Santal Absolut.  The Lavender pour Homme is overkill because I also have the original C&S but I love the fragrance so much I got the Fine for weekdays. Kinda frivolous I know but ....

Neo, when I first discovered Fine Accoutrements  I bought a sample pack. The offerings were fewer by a couple I think but although they were all great and the one getting all the raves was American Blend,  the Fresh Vetiver jumped out to me as really exceptional. No "concrete notes" discernible to me.

A very Fine shave (couldn’t resist) with the Fine soap and splash. An aquatic that has a slight citrus, earthy moss, musk with a subtle sweetness to round it off. More pronounced in the after shave splash and quite frankly, nicely done. Performance was very good as the soap produced a really nice and rich creamy lather that gave more than adequate protection and glide for the razor. And the splash gave a nice quench/bracing effect coupled with a very smooth, cooling and comforting effect from the menthol. A really good shave, period. A great Saturday and shaves to all...

I don't know to be honest. Haven't used Cool Water in over 20 years. But, I do get a feel of a combo of scents with both ADG Essenza & Bvlgari Acqua Marine. Well, at least to my nose. Hope that helps...

Actually, they are available directly from the Fine website.
