Gentlemen,

My cousin and I have collaborated on a number of videos, he as videographer and editor and I as script writer and voice narrator. The video here tells a small story about the Assyrian empire thousands of years ago. Of course, that’s my heritage, and I thought I should share it with my friend here. We filmed the video in my study. The fountain pen is the Pelikan M400.

A wonderful piece. I enjoyed the video thoroughly. I would love to hear the tales of your homeland as most likely they are not in books.

Right you are, my friend, those tales are not in books. Perhaps one of these days we can have a long conversation.

I wouldn't mind hearing more ancient history - ever considered making a podcast? Or did you make one and I missed it?

Obie, you write beautifully and not because you have a wonderful fountain pen. Hans has cracked the ice maybe you can pull a book out of that hole?

Thanks for the kind words, my friend. Yes, all this is worth a story or two.

Thank you, Johnny. Writing the script and narrating the piece was quite emotional for me, but I really enjoyed doing it.

I think you put your finger on why I enjoyed it so much; the narration had a lot of feeling in it, not just facts Smile

Thank you, Hans. When it comes to my Assyrian heritage, I do get a wee bit emotional. By the way, I am named after King Ashur-Uballit I, who ruled the Assyrian empire around 1300 B.C. In the U.S., the spelling changed to Obelit. In high school, the teachers could not pronounce my name, so one called me Obie and that has stuck.
