I have been traditional wet shaving for quite a while but only recently discovered the internet shaving world. I have been lurking your forum here for several month but just decided to join. It seems like you have a great community here and i hope i can contribute something to it along the way.

Welcome, I am new here both lurking or posting. From what I have seen it is a really nice place to hang out and has a lot of information. It is nice to see quite a few SE and DE shavers.
Cheers! I am looking forward to your posts.

Well I started in 2006 when i decided i wanted to find a better way to shave as i always hated it (totally doesnt sound like any other story around here i know) but really wanted to get away from the constant 5 o'clock shadow look i was keeping with electric clippers. A few years prior a friend had told be about shaving with oil, which at the time i could care less about. Got in contact with him and he explained to me again so i went and got some oil and a de and was hooked from the first shave.

I used oil only for a while before i branched off into the world of brushes and soaps and its been all downhill for my wallet since. i go through cycles of acquiring massive amounts of product then giving it all way. Currently im in the latter phase of my current cycle.

As for favorite gear, its almost always changing so its hard to nail down lots of specifics. But in general i prefer more aggressive razors to mild razors. I recently started to dip my toe in the world of straights but haven't totally fell in love with it yet. I love boar brushes and if i had to use a semogue 1305 or omega pro 48 or 49 the rest of my shaving days i would be happy. I like pretty much all oils but i hate how overpriced a lot (most) of them are. My soaps and creams change the most as well as my feelings and preferences towards them but tabac and speick never leave my rotation and i like most almond scented products. I have never found an after shave product that i just absolutely love so i am always jumping around and trying different this, splashes, balms, whatever.

I am also located in Houston so its good to see someone else from houston. Like i said im usually looking to get rid of stuff but i hate mailing things so if there are any other Houstonians here i usually have something to sell or trade.
