I just got around to opening a tub of Proraso soap I received about a year ago. The puck had hardened and shrivelled. It still lathers well, but I was surprised that its condition. Donshaving soaps have a shelf life?

Yes, that happens with Proraso and other soaps, too. Slight shrinkage, with a general hardening obviously indicates the moisture evaporated. Which if you ask me isn’t a bad problem. The soap may last a bit longer. Shave on!

Proraso trends to dry out like that.   Your soap should be fine.  It's happened to me and it still produces quality lather with the classic Proraso scent.

Some of my soaps dry out, some don't. The Green Proraso I bought in - oh my - '12 hasn't, but I've used it every other month or so, so moisture has been added to it on a regular schedule.
