VIE LONG EPSILON: "SCOTTISH SPIRIT" AFTER SHAVE
I had a sample of this aftershave, and today I used it with another product inspired by the Scottish tradition.

The lotion is quite alcoholic, with a certain menthol content, and a good dose of Glycerin.
This is the list of ingredients: (INCI)
Alcohol Denat (Ethanol), Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Parfum (Fragrance), Sorbitol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Menthol, Linalool, Eugenol, Limonene, Citronellol, Coumarin, Cinnamal, Citric Acid, Geraniol, CI19140 (FD&C Yellow No 5), CI16035 (FD&C Red No40), CI42090 (FD&C Blue No 1).
The action is fast, pleasant and leaves the skin fresh, but without conditioning skills.
It is a simple product, without particular functional principles worthy of note.

The fragrance is pleasant, but indefinite.
Unfortunately I do not have and do not find data on the olfactory pyramid.
There is only talk of a blend of Tobacco Leaves and Whiskey, with light smoked notes.
Upon application, I felt a slightly sweetish note with a dry base, which reminds me of a Single Malt Scotch Wiskey.
Ethyl Alcohol and Menthol immediately afterwards, with a pleasant sense of freshness but which distorts the initial scenario.
Finally, the note of Green Tobacco Leaves is light but very persistent, which gives a further change.
In the middle, hint politely, metallic notes that make the perfume clear.
But in a polite way, with poor projection and low invasiveness.
I didn't mind.

But given the price at which they offer it, I don't find it interesting.
Especially in comparison with excellent Italian competitors such as Edelstein or Farmagan.
Of the first the amber version Edel 45, of the second the herbaceous Apres Mieux Frais, I find they are better.
Not so much from a technical point of view (very similar), but in commercial conditions.
Certainly more vigorous in the fragrance, which I personally prefer.

In what is their core business, they are strong.
For me, Vielong is best left alone in the brush factory.
This Epsilon "Scottish Spirit" is not on the same level.

I thought Scottish Spirit smells a bit like Drakkar Noir, I may be mistaken though. Their Amber is a good clone of the old Floid "The Genuine" before it was ruined.
