Evening all. Many from that other forum were aware I was waiting for the arrival of some new brushes that Mark was kind enough to work with me on. They arrived today and are absolutely fantastic and I'd like to share them with you.

Hopefully Mark doesn't have his e-mail blown up too badly after you all see these. Wink

First and foremost here are the boxes. There was a minor error with their labeling, buuuut I'm sure you can figure out what it is.

As you can see, these are no ordinary brushes. Some of the best (imo) knots and something a bit different with those labels. Wink

Up first, the Tulip 3. Butterscotch Handle with a Manchurian knot sized at approximately 24mmx51mm. A great size for both face and bowl lathering with the excellent backbone the Manchurian hair has.

Pretty basic outside of the Manchurian Hair. So with the next two I wanted to change it up. I wanted something that had never been done before. Mark at Simpson is the man, hands down. Went above and beyond to make me happy. So let me introduce, what are in my opinion, the most custom Simpson 57 brushes released to date, that I'm aware of.

The first, a Manchurian knotted 57 with a nice Tiger Stripe handle.

[Image: 57Tiger3.JPG][Image: 57Tiger2.JPG]

And last but certainly not least... A custom 57 with Jade handle, with a fantastic 2 Band super knot. Two band Simpson brushes are currently my favorite hair. It awaits to be seen if the Manchurians will dethrone the 2 Band.

So as you can see, a bit outside the box here and as always, everyone will have a different opinion on their looks. Hopefully you guys don't completely flood Mark with e-mails because of these. They are absolutely amazing, and just to clarify on some things... Yes the boxes in the first picture had the 57's labelled backwards. I had ordered them with the Jade handle having the Manchurian, and the Tiger the 2 band. However small mistake which doesn't really matter. The boxes had already been made and thus, just a minor bit of mislabeling. In the end is doesn't make a bit of difference as the quality is in the brushes.

Took a few weeks for them to arrive and they of course came with the amazing Simpsons Shave Cream, which is amazing stuff. (Get some and try it if you haven't!)

Any questions at all, please feel free to pm me or post here. There are some I won't be able to answer but for the most part will do what I can!

And Mark, a HUGE thank you. They are amazing and I can't wait to put them to use! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Teiste, my current favorite Simpson knot is the 2 band Super. So I've got to go with the Jade. The Manchurians are new to me and I'll be using one tomorrow morning. I will say this, with all the reviews around I was expecting the Manchurians to be a bit "scritchier." However, they really don't feel bad at all. I've got high expectations.

And yes, insanely lucky. Wink My brush collection is growing but I enjoy mostly custom or limited/rare run brushes. I'll post up a picture of my Simpsons in a few moments.

Johnny, I was hoping they were arriving this week, but didn't expect today. Needless to say I have them sitting here with me and don't want to put them down. It's so hard to hold all three at once! Biggrin

Thanks all, appreciate all the kind words.

Here's my small collection of Simpsons so far.

Now there's a picture you don't see every day,

A few of those brushes are especially striking to me, not to say that the whole group isn't one nice piece after another.

Very wonderful additions to your shaving arsenal,

Martin

None are too shabby, the Jade is absolutely GORGEOUS though!

Oh, you have knots in them as well. I missed that. I need to go back and reread the post.

I especially like the 57 with the jade handle. The 50 series are among my favorite Simpsons. I currently have a 58 and 59, and would definitely like a 59 in super, 2 band or manchurian, or with the jade or butterscotch handles.

This kind of personal service are what sets Simpsons and Shavemac apart.
