Hello, everyone!

I'm just wondering - are the top cap of Muhle R41 2011 and the top cap of Muhle R89 pretty identical?

Currently I'm looking for the head of R41 2011, but sadly I cannot find an available one which I could possibly buy.
So far I've founded an offer regarding ONLY the base plate of R41 2011 - according to the information provided, it will fit ONLY to the top cap of the same razor (R41 2011).

However, some people have told me that the top caps of those two are razors (R41 2011 and R89) are totally identical?
What do you think about that thesis and is it actually correct?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Nikolay

I'm pretty sure that the R89 & R41 use separate top caps since shaving[dot]ie sells them each separately for about $10 each.
But these are for current heads, I'm not sure if the 2011 R41 is completely different.

It was a collegue from a Spanish wet shaving forum (Foroafeitado) that discovered that Mühle changed R41 razor head. He posted different pictures comparing the 2011 and 2013 models, where you could see that the R41-2011 cap was narrower than the R41-2013 one.

He contacted Mühle, and they denied any changes... but the pictures shown a clear difference. I do have both models and I can assure you that they are different. At that time, people realized that you can put the R89 top on a R41-2013 base, and get something close to the R41-2011. I do not know if there have been changes on the current batch of R89, but its cap was compatible with R41-2013 base.

That's interesting and good news.  The 2011 R41 is one of my favorite razors.

Somebody makes a plastic cap. I thank it’s called a split fire or something with fire in the name. Try that. I bet somebody on here knows what I’m talking about and can point you in the direction.
