I have seen Rooney brushes relabeled and sold under the name of Boots, a UK pharmacy, as well as a number of shaving gear brands.  Does anyone know if other pharmacies relabeled Rooney brushes in the past?

Lee tells me Rooney made private label brushes for several English pharmacies and men's shops.  I don't have a list, but I know that Truefit & Hill still carries their version of the Style 1 that they call the "Wellington."  I'll try to ask him next time we talk.

Photo taken November 2012. This brush has an old Rooney Finest knot. I was told it dates to 2006.

This is one of my larger cabinet queens, a Penhaligon's private label made by Rooney. The name is deeply engraved into the handle.  Pictured next to it’s smaller cousin to compare labels. Love my butterscotch brushes

I hope an Exception can be made for this brush. It is not from a chemist or a Gentlemens shop but falls into the theme. A NIB Dunhill made by Rooney. Only Dunhill brush I have ever seen. The box is fitted to the brush. It also is a bigboy, it’s handle is just shy of 4 inch and a OAL of almost 7 inches. Never took it out of the bag. The knot, for what ever reason is very fragile and the hair breaks easily. A Chubby 3 is photobombing for size reference

I've never seen an Olde Apothecary Shop brush made by Rooney that didn't have an old Rooney Finest knot.

Do the Olde Apothecary brushes have the size number printed on the other side of the handle?

They do not. I believe the one on the left is a Stubby size 3 and the one on the right is a Style 1/Size 2.
