If the latter, cut to the chase and just use alcohol neat.
Indeed! Vodka will work very well I'm sure.

It’s just letting you know that you are alive.

Another good one is Floid Mentolado Vigoroso, superb face feel and long lasting menthol sensation however the scent is an acquired taste... sweet powdery musk I think (smells a bit like those "cough candy" sweets we used to buy as children.)

Cool. Thinking probably both the menthol and alcohol burn is what I'm shooting for.

+1 This is the only aftershave I have (out of more than 100) that actually makes my face feel warm. I've got many that give a menthol freeze, with Chatillon Lux Colbeck and Tam Sauk at the top of the list.

This sounds interesting. My wife has asthma, and certain scents will set her off. I can't use anything with eucalyptus, which I enjoy, in it. Same with bay rum. The concentration of bay leaf bothers her. So my bay rum soap I can only do on morning shaves since we won't be right next to each other all day. But the cinnamon/All Spice scent would be doable. I'll have to give this a try. Thanks.

You'll have to try it and make up your own mind. For me, they're close enough that if Floid Blue was currently available, I would not pay the premium for it.
