After seeing the video, I've tried.
This is my trip to the shakey Froth method world.
The summary of my experience is that this method is inconvenient.
It does not bring advantages (initially hoped) on the yield, and is harmful especially for the most precious soaps.
On the other hand, since I have had good results in brushless mode, it can be a valid alternative in particular and emergency situations.

The video author keeps talking about how dense his lather is, yet that’s not what I see at all. One of the important aspects of a good lather, for me, is how much soap I’ve loaded - something this method limits. What I do find interesting is that he starts with a very wet lather and works air into it - drying it out as he goes. This is the reverse of how most folks build lather, and certainly something new. Not interesting enough for me to try, as I can consistently get dense, thick lathers, but interesting nonetheless.
