It happened in an instant .

Yes, the tile floor in my den is very hard.

My Sara Bonnyman scuttle is no more. Fortunately, I have backups. Time to bring my Schwarzweisskeramic back into action.

I purchased the Bonnyman when I visited Sara's studio while on a vacation in 2018. The photos show it being made.

Johnny, didn’t you “redesign” your Sara Bonnyman scuttle a few years ago?

Oy, that's a real shame. I've had many scuttles, including Georgetown, Dirty Bird, and SWK; but the one I have kept, my first and my favorite, is my Moss scuttle in Anniversary Slate, which I won in a giveaway when I was first restarting wet shaving. I think another road trip - or even just a virtual one with an order - would be worth considering.

Oh, bummer.  Sad

But, opportunity to buy another one!

I love my Georgetown scuttle and want to get another one for this very reason, should I ever drop the only one I have.

If you're interested, there is a Georgetown offered on the auction site for $49.99 shipped.

David can do that, because he lives in Canada where Sara Bonnyman's workshop is.
Those of us who live South of the Border cannot take road trips to Canada these days.
As does Europe, Canada regards those of us down here as virus-spreading vermin (can't say I blame Canada or Europe as of this date).

But maybe the high shipping cost from Canada to the US can be an added incentive to be especially careful when handling the new scuttle.

Haha, it lives on. I smashed it into some smaller pieces and they're going in the bottom of flower pots to cover the holes.

I'm more into FL.
But today I've "re-designed" a little bowl where I was using a soap sample.
No problem with this ... but my fav brush too have some issues.

If I am reincarnated I'd wish for that.

I did the same thing with my Sara Bonnyman Moss Scuttle a short time ago.  I’d had it for 13 years and it was a great loss as it was a 60th birthday present from my son, who bought it whilst visiting Sara’s studio.  Unfortunately I didn’t have a back-up, so I ordered an Anniversary Slate Moss Scuttle that day.  It came very quickly and now has pride of place on my side of the MB vanity with my razor and brush of the day.  I was surprised by how much I missed my scuttle whilst awaiting the new one.

Believe it or not, I can't.  Nova Scotia, like the rest of the Maritimes, won't let us guys from Ontario in.  Or, from any province outside of the the Maritimes (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland).  They have extremely low numbers of Covid cases, and want to keep it that way.  Ontario, although still very low, is considerably higher than any province in the Maritimes.

Hopefully a road trip down there next summer...
