Haha. Nope. It’s a reflection of our educational system. Hahahaha.
In reality though I can’t imagine ever going back to the way I was shaving. Even if there were extreme time constraints a puck of Williams rubbed across my wet jaws and rubbed in with my hands would be just as fast as canned foam and ever so much more slick. A wham-bam method I’d think. If shaving quickly were the only criteria I still couldn’t and wouldn’t do canned foam.

I am curious as to why he switched back though? Difficulty getting proper soaps, perceived saving of time, advertisements got to him?
It obviously reflects on my inability to convert a person to wet shaving, nothing more.
It’s frustrating to see people revert to their former shaving ways when you thought the conversion was complete. It’s happened to us all, Jack. Take it in stride and move on. Now, go out there and find another misinformed poor slob!

I used canned Edge gel with a brush until 4 years ago. We bought Edge because I grew up in the same town that was the headquarters of SC Johnson company, so the money we were spending on the canned gel(which we bought at a steep discount as factory seconds) was supporting a local industry.

I have to agree with you. Those were not good days and returning to them won't happen. I have been traditional wet shaving since 2011 and I have a better complexion now (no bumps or irritation) than I had at 25.

You converted him. He went back to the dark side.
He went back to the dark side. You totally got me with this one, hahaha.
There is one person I tried to convert that went back to the dark side after just 2 or 3 shaves maybe... He didn't want to take the time to learn the techniques of shaving with a DE.

I think for some people learning to shave with a DE razor as an adult (after having shaved perhaps for decades with carts), is like others learning to ice skate with one bladed skates. 1, You either get it right away; 2, you fall and take off the skates; or 3, you fall and get up and keep on trying to do it until you can. All four of my converts eventually went back to the dark side, although two of them still dabble occasionally. Obviously some people just don’t like, need or want to have what we consider to be a satisfying daily ritual.
