Purchasing my first Timeless (.95 gap) and I’m stuck deciding on which baseplate. I like moderately aggressive razors, leaning to the aggressive. I know don’t want an OC, so I’m between an SB and SC. The dual plate maybe? I’m an everyday shaver and have some considerably tough hair. My most used as of late are the GC.84 and ATT Windsor MM CH1. Daily drivers, I guess. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Which is great!

But based on both razor you mentioned and your use case and because I have tried the 0.95 several time and that I own the GC 0.84, I would suggested you the 0.95 for your first timeless. Straight bar or scalloped is all up to you! By the way, the OC from timeless is one of the smoothess OC I have tried so far!

From what I can infer, it seems as though the smoothness of the heads doesn’t really vary much. Is the efficiency of the OC that much of a step-up from the SB/SC?

.68 OC or .95 SB. I lean more towards the .95 SB. That's my two cents.

I generally prefer SB over OC, but something about the Timeless with a scalloped top cap and OC base plate looks amazing.

I went from a game changer 0.84 to the timeless scalloped SB 0.95, and that was a very nice shave improvement!

You will not regret!

You may want to reconsider the OC omission.  Timeless uses a unique design that makes their OC baseplate the smoothness equivalent of the SB.  Irrespective, hard to go wrong with Timeless and Matt and the guys are terrific people - heart and soul of the MidWest.

I have quite a few aggressive razors, shave daily, and the Timeless Ti .68 OC is one of my favorites, I have a .95 OC/ SB and use it if I skip a day but the .68 is so smooth and gets the job done. Can’t go wrong with either.

Thanks to all for the input. I reversed my initial thoughts and decided to go with the OC. Since I only have a few of them in my collection (numerous SB’s) with this one hopefully being much smoother than the others, I figured why not. Thanks again!
