I have been waiting on two razors family has bought me for my birthday. The first arrived yesterday. It's a 1959 Fatboy re-plated in Nickel. It's quite beautiful and tomorrow it gets its first use.

Here are some pics, forgive my fingerprints which are already all over it. Most notable in the 4th pic, those are my finger prints and not defects in the plating.

Those are fine razors, and the replating looks great. I hope it gives you a lot of enjoyment.

Absolutely gorgeous. An antique store near me has one. This makes me think I may need to pick it up.

A hobbyist vendor over on another board has a friend who does nickel re-plating on vintage cars and he has some of his sales re-plated by this guy. I don't know if he'd do re-plating as a regular thing, but I sent him off a 1953 SuperSpeed and my birth year / quarter Slim Adjustable which he's doing for about half what a well known re-plater charges. (i.e $50 for both)

I just shipped them out this afternoon so in around 3 weeks I will have them back and I'll post my impressions and some pics.

That is a great price and looks like a nice replate job!

A classic razor that now looks like it came right from the 1959 drug store - very cool!

Well I have shaved with it a couple times. No complaints about it at all. Shaves like a brand new razor. I do set it around the 6 range for the first pass and around 4 for the other passes.

She's certainly a looker. I am curious as to how the two razors I have off for re-plating look when they get back to me.
