I fell in love with my boar knot from Turn n shave. It's a 26mm shoat boar. What's your favorite boar brush?[Image: fc378591ba256f055a4291771ff73a3a.jpg]

Heinrich made mine.  It's one of my favourite brushes— always in the rotation.  Not scratchy at all. But, I have to say I haven't seen one available for a long time.

Anyone heard if H. L. Thater still makes boar brushes?

I have 2 beehive handle Omega boars that are excellent. I paid about $10 for each brush.

SOC are probably my overall favourite "off the shelf" boar brush. I recently put this together though which gives them a close run for the #1 spot.

I will not argue with Primo - but what's your favorite? 1908?

Have a Mondial boar.  Maybe I have the wrong one. Smile

Have had Omegas.  Have a Zenith around here somewhere.

Stand by my Semogues.  Plenty of knot, in a handle that's not oversized, easy to control, with a 'just right' feel of backbone and splay.

The cheapest:

I have had three of these. Never, ever a black bristle. Softens up NATURALLY, quicker than any Semogue. Doesn't stink to high heaven like my Omegas.
Handle, while nothing special, is quite ergonomic. When broken-in, is as soft as a good+ Badger.

Semogue's Finest Bristle size 2 is my favorite!

Quite rare, and hard to find though.

Nice!  The Zenith aluminum and copper boars are very good brushes.

That’s a great looking brush. It’s pretty unique. Does the handle require much maintenance?

A relofted large Omega brush. I'd say 3/5 of my brushes are Omega boars.
Tried several others with no luck.

Many people let the copper patina and I will too. But I hear it's easy to polish

The last two Semogue LEs and the Butterscotch SOC that I got from Phil are currently riding the crest of the wave.
