Noob question.
Here's a little case I ran across. I thought it was a blade case because it said "Gillette" on it. But a wrapped blade won't fit inside. It's exactly too wide! A naked blade will fit, however. So is this a "trash blade vault" kinda case to carry used blades until a traveler can safely dispose of them? Or is it from a bygone era when they didn't sell blades wrapped in waxy paper and this carried new "sharp" blades? (I put the word sharp in quotey things because I'm not sure how well a blade would hold an edge, rattling around in a tin can.) Anyone know what this actually is?

It may be due to the packaging that some are wider than others?

It is a blade case - those came with Gillette's from the Old through New Improved to the New .. pictured an Old Type Big Fellow from 1920 that has old wrapped blades inside - maybe those modern Sharks are wrapped more heavily?
