It's been a while since this question's come up for discussion. So, I thought it might be worth raising again. FWIW, I started out with a 24 mm brush, but soon fell to the siren song of a 30 mm. A few years later, I fell in love with 28's which has been my preferred size for past seven or eight. Recently however, I added a 25 mm to my rotation. And while I still enjoy my 28's, the 25 seems to work just as well as the larger brushes while using less soap. (Not that I'm cheap or anything.
)
So, I'm curious. What do you prefer?

I like to load heavily regardless of the knot size. There’s so much soap down the drain when I use my Chubby 3

My favorite right now is the Semogue 1438 boar. It has a loft of 50mm and a 21mm knot. I like it better than my fatter badgers, mostly because it seems easier to get a lather going with a smaller knot. And I feel like I have more control over where the lather is going. With my fat badger, I was getting lather up my nose, in my ears, etc. Although making a mess was fun (especially while yodeling), it wasn't as efficient as a smaller knot. For me, anyway.

Me I'm like Brad, up to 26 mm that is. I started small, then worked my way to 28 mm, which for me was wasteful, in both soap and dollars. I like 24 to 26 but do have one 28 I kept, and a couple 22s that I've had too long to flog off. This applies to the badgers only, the other "hair" doesn't fit my norm
