So here’s today’s question for the group. Gun to the head, if you had to pick only two razors from your den, one vintage and one modern, for the rest of your shaving days, which would you choose?
No honorable mentions, no one more, no top three, top four, etc. Only two. One modern, one vintage. If you change your mind tomorrow or next week and want to post again at another time, that’s ok, but only two choices per post.
Here are my “only two” keepers:

The 1940s Gillette Super-Speed is the one that I use to judge all other razors.
The Rockwell 6s seems to work better than any other adjustable, so It got the nod.
It was close, though...

Another excellent two choice submission.

Part of the difficulty was the rules of the game! If I could have two, then one would have to be a bulletproof fixed gap choice, and the other probably should be adjustable... with no way to know what the future would bring insofar as DE blades are concerned, it might take an adjustable to accommodate changes in blades over time. This *IS* the last pair of razors I'd have forever, right? So I figured that one of them HAD to be an adjustable.
So the real choice was "vintage adjustable and modern fixed" versus "vintage fixed vs modern adjustable" razor. Above, I went with the Super-Speed (fixed gap) and Rockwell 6S (adjustable). If I'd gone the OTHER way, it'd be a Gillette Slim (adjustable) and the Wolfman Guerrilla (that IanHoward PIF'd me).

Hence the need for stockpiling.
Re: your thought process on choosing the razors, what you say makes sense, but I kept it simple… one relatively mild, one relatively efficient. All my bases are covered.
Great PIF!
