Hello all, I need to procure a knot (HMW, manchurian, or dense 2-band) and set it in a handle I already have. The knot it’s replacing is 28mm x 54mm, and looks like a hybrid fan or non-flat fan to me. Can you give me some thoughts on who (besides Shavemac) makes solid knots. Also - if you’re in the know, what marine-grade epoxy you recommend for setting. Thanks in advance!

I’d love to recreate something similar to this:

I recommend the Bob Quinn/Elite Razor High Mountain White or Manchurian White.

Elite knots are very nice can't comment other than what I see. I do know that Maggard knots have served me well.

+1 for the Maggards SHD.  They also sell a packet of Hardman Silicone Adhesive for setting knots, which I’ve found very good.

I know you said other than Shavemac, but that would be my honest recommendation. What you have right now to be reknotted is more bulb shaped with some fan emphasis, while the other one is more of the hybrid shape. More fan shaped, but with a touch of bulb. It's a shape that I associate with Rooney and M&F personally. I would trust Bernd or one of his crew could replicate that spot on if you send them a picture. I also like Shavemac's hair quality better than anything mentioned. It's a shame that more makers don't just sell the knots for people to buy. The shape is just too specific to be taildoved into one category, hence hybrid. I say you need to be able to ask the maker if they can do this directly, and it leaves only two options I can think of: Shavemac and Declaration Grooming. That type of knot might be outside of Declaration's domain though. I've never really seen them do something like that, and my understanding is that is a harder shape to do.
