Hello from TN

Greetings to all!

Pete Hendrix from Nashville, as well as the artisan behind Hendrix Classics & Co.   

First and foremost, I'm a shaving enthusiast.  I've noticed that different folks have different interests within the hobby.  My thing are really nice razors.  I love the two pass super close shave. My favorite razor is the Rocnel 2021 Sailor.  Another top one is the .95 Timeless  Titanium. I also love Artist Club shavettes, preferably with a Schick Proline as well as a Weck w/ Kismets.

Vintage razors are also a big interest.  They don't shave as well as the modern razors for me, though the fascinating history has me reaching for them often. The Single Ring is my favorite in this area.

I also appreciate soap from other artisans, w the greatest hits B&M Seville and Saponificio Varesino.  Soap Commander and Strike Gold are really good.

Recently did an eval on budget soaps.  Best value overall for me is Omega shaving cream, which I find to be noticably better than Pro Raso.  Palmolive Men's Sensitive is also really good, with comes from Germany via eBay.  Honorable mentions would be Cella and L Toja.

The .95 Titanium would be a nice addition to your den.  My experience:  It delivers a $500 shave at a heck of a price, especially on the used market.  By $500 shave I mean that it is assertive/aggressive with no blade feel.

I had a Timeless .95 and the lack of any blade feels is what I actually didn't like. It does feel like there is no blade in it. I like a little blade feel or I feel like I'm not shaving. I had a Titanium I got on the second hand market with both base plates, but the seller intercepted the delivery and had it returned to him. He said he changed his mind on selling it. A little late I would think, but what can you do?

Right now my Timeless 0.38 Bronze, Timeless SSSlim, and Blackland Dart. The Timeless doesn't feel as aggressive as they say, at least to me, but I get some blade feel. I mostly get blade feel on my first pass, not the second. The Blackland I feel it on both passes. I just got an Above The Tie SS handle with a copper base plate I'm still testing. It has some nice feedback, it really sings. If I do the titanium Timeless, which I'd like to at some point, it will likely be the Slim.
