Score and bonus score today. About 3 weeks ago we stopped into a small curio shop near us. Saw an Old Spice mug, Stag brush and an older Gillette razor on a shelf for only $20 for the set. The razor was in great shape, mug near mint and the brush in good shape too. I knew it was a steal. Kicked myself in the pants for not getting it. So, we had the cafe closed today for the Labor Day holiday, and my wife says, "Hey, how about we drive up to Katies to see if that shave stuff is still there?". Alrighty. We get there and I bee line to see if....YES! Got it. As I'm checking out I'm talking to the owner and he says "Oh, you like that vintage shave stuff eh? What do you think of these?". He pulls a boxed Gillette TTO and a Fat Boy off the shelf and shows them to me. I lazer beamed onto the Fat Boy. It was very clean. Doors opened flawlessly, adjuster turned without a hitch. Keeping as calm as possible I ask how much he wants for it. Said he didn't know what it's really worth and tells me to make an offer. I knew the value but didn't want to low ball him too much. So I asked if he'd take $20. He says how about $15. SOLD. So for $35 I got a good $100 of vintage gear all in real good condition.
The Fat Boy is an E4 (1959 4th quarter). No serial number or date code on the other razor at all. So according to the date charts it looks to me to be in the 1939-1951 range. I am stoked.

Finally scored a Titanium Timeless at a good price. It comes with 2 plates, the .95 OC and the .68 SB. This is great because I have never used either. I did order a Titanium scalloped cap from Timeless because I just like them better than the smooth one. Hoping to like this one!!!

That’s a good looking brush! I quite like the look of his antique ivory stock. Thanks for sharing the eye candy.
Enjoy your shaves!
Thanks. My last three brushes from Brad: M&F Highlander in Tortoise, M&F 2XL in Antique. I liked them both so I got this one and found that they go together well, too.

Sorry for the lack of photo. Will try to post one tomorrow.
Yesterday I opened a box sent by the Enabler himself. In it were 100 Gillette Platinums, a puck of MWF, and a backup of Captain Fawcett’s Scapicchio. This may be my new favorite scented soap. I figured while they’re still available, it’d be wise to get another one now. They take up little space, and being triple milled I’m not too worried about shelf life. It’s on deck for tomorrow.

Charlie, I have to try the Captain Fawcett's soaps.
Long shelf life is one of the reasons why I'm increasingly shifting away from artisan soaps to triple milled soaps.
