I bought some Proraso red, sandalwood aftershave and noticed that it’s for “barbe dure” (coarse beards). My beard is anything but coarse. Will it possibly be too oily for my skin?I love Proraso green aftershave and Proraso products in general.

Give it a try and don't believe everything you read.
You might think it rocks!
I don't believe "experts" anymore.

+3 - I've used it for some time, and haven't noticed any oiliness, summer or winter.

Now I'll have to go order some red. So I can compare it to the black, white, and green! I like Prorazo, but I'm also a bit of a Cella fella.

I agree. No oiliness, just all day moisturizing. And it smells good too Wink

I don't have a particularly coarse beard, and I love the stuff.  In fact, there's no reference to coarse beards on my bottle.  I wonder if that's market-specific labeling.  I bought my bottle from a U.S. online retailer IIRC.

In any event, my problem is that the alcohol or chemicals in my alcohol-based aftershaves irritates my palms to the extent that if I use one for several days in a row, I get what appear to be stigmata in the center of each palm, and no amount of washing and moisturizing after applying seems to help.  But that's for another thread.

This is interesting. Many people have skin sensitivity of one kind or another. I’d bet such a thread would stimulate some good conversation Wink

I had to look up "stigmata."
A halfway decent minister could easily turn your experience into a sermon, I'm sure.
