I am thinking about buying a new Shavemac 24 mm brush, but am undecided between a bulb or a fan and in what lofts. I generally prefer a bulb knot, but the Shavemac bulb seems to be much more pointy than most badger bulbs I have used (TGN 2 band, Semogue 2 band, Simpson Best). I bought a used Shavemac a while back which was supposed to be a 24 mm bulb knot with a 50 mm loft, but the loft measured closer to 46 mm. I don't enjoy the brush as too much pressure is required to splay enough to allow face lathering. What loft would be better for a 24 mm bulb to have backbone, but still splay enough to comfortably face lather?

My concern regarding a fan is that it may feel too big on my face and/or not have much backbone. To alleviate those concerns, what loft would you suggest for a 24 mm  Shavemac fan?  Thanks!

The hair choice would drive this decision. Also if I am correct their D01 bulb is hybrid if I am not mistaken, someone please verify this. I love there three band.

Good point. I forgot to mention that it would be a silver tip 2 band
