My ceramic Fine bowl broke.  I thought I'd experiment with an empty SV. Aluminium container.  What a great bowl . Makes lather dead easily, and of quality. Now,if I could find similar but a bit deeper, that would be perfect.!

I had to come up with an ersatz shaving bowl once and discovered my kids' child-size cereal bowl was perfect!  It's got dancing penguins on it, which adds a touch of class (since they're wearing tuxedos).  It's about palm-sized, which is perfect for a shaving bowl!  I bought 4 of them maybe 20+ years ago (I think a set of 4 cost 100 yen at the time), but only have one bowl left.  Incredibly cheap and works great!

As soon as I empty my Proraso Menthol tub, I'll try lathering in that one to see how it works...

I tried an empty Proraso tub, but it didn't work well. The ones by SV and Castle Forbes are excellent. Nice thick lather fast,
