It's time

Time to replace my pen cloth. Is it ever! But, it's become sort-of an art form.

You must have bought that one in the 60s.

It’s beautiful! Mount it, matte it, frame it. Hang it up and admire it

HaHa.  I might.  It takes years—maybe decades—to create a work of art like this!

As a non-fountain pen user, what’s the purpose of this admittedly beautiful tie-dyed cloth?

I'm working toward Minimalism.

Take a photo of it and then let it go. The digital image takes little space in your world.

As a returning fountain pen hobbyist, I do understand.

I use it to wipe the nibs of my pens when I refill them.  And, to catch the little spills of ink.  And, on a couple occasions, to catch the big spills of ink.

The newer ones just aren't as nice.  These are the one from work, and the one from home.  They just don't have the "look" yet.

a few spills or near misses and the color will come
