I just bought the razor head last night and was wondering what would be a good blade for this SE Slant?  I used to shave with a straight razor, but it’s been at least 5 years since I’ve done that.  My every day razor has been a Merkur 37G.
I don’t know what a “soft guard” does, so that is keeping me from buying the Feather (pink) ProSoft Guards.  Or would Kia Captain's Titan Mild be a better starting blade.
Thank you in advance for any recommendations!

Schick Prolines are the only Artist Club blades I use anymore.  Super sharp, but still smooth.

I found the Kai Milds to be harsh, i.e. not sharp enough.

I am a fan of the Feather Professional SE blades. I never tried the guarded blades. Check out Try a Blade where you can buy 1 or more blades to give a few blades a try, (there aren't that many brands of AC blades) anyway have fun in this tunnel of the rabbit hole.

I use Prolines, Kai Pink and Kai Sharps

Personally I wouldn't bother with guarded blades it's not a super aggressive razor - guarded Pro Touch felt very similar to the Kai Pink

I still have quite a few blades to get thru with my sampler, but I am finding that to be true as well.
