Over the last few months there seems to have been an increase in spammers, occasionally in random threads. More often, the spammers are targeting individuals by PM.
Generally the messages are something along the lines of, “My friend so and so has one (of what you’re looking for) for sale. Here’s his email address…”
Also observed are requests to ship items via a third party. These are frequently in regards to international transactions.
BTW, it’s probably a good idea to make tracking/insurance part of international transactions. That will help to protect all parties involved.
Generally it’s a good idea to know the person you’re dealing with in the BST. Yes, I know you just want to move that brush/razor/soap, but sometimes a bit of caution should be in order. Remember those lessons in kindergarten about the uh-oh feeling? If you think you see a Red Flag, you probably do.
Remember always, all BST transactions are both Caveat Emptor and Caveat Venditor.
The moderation team appreciates that the community does a great job of monitoring the goings on. Thank you for keeping us updated. Seriously.
Please continue to be vigilant. To borrow a phrase, “If you see something, say something.”
Finally Please, take a moment to read/review the TSN BST rules:
