Good morning,
I'm here to speak on the Rex Konsul. I'm not affiliated with them in any way but these are my experiences.

To start, my all time favorite razor is the Rex ambassador. I regularly use iton setting 6-6.5 for all 3 passes and love it. My skin feels phenomenal after this razor. But many people say it is too "aggressive" for them because the blade feel, which i can't argue their experience.

The Konsul was made for those who wanted to love the ambassador but it had too much blade feel. This razor has significantly less blade feel yet the efficiency seems very close to the Ambassador.

My BBS lasts 8-10 hours where most razors couldn't do that except the Ambassador. I also find it super smooth once you dial in the correct angle, which I've found to be more towards riding the gaurd (same as the ambassador).

It is beautifully made and put together. I opted for the polished version and it is as well polished as other high end razors (ATT, Timeless, blackland, etc).

I personally find it easy to load a blade but I know some have trouble with the slanted cap. I dont find it difficult at all.

Overall, it's an excellent high end razor that most people could get along with, even if you're like me and like high efficiency. The biggest downside is the price point. But if you're getting one of these, then you'll probably already be past the point of being frugal[Image: ad5622b857f2bf038052e72051ed5983.jpg][Image: 83c2933ecfdb276d9be1d040820a2220.jpg][Image: 9e235c52d0ce1deade239a1b9b52f642.jpg][Image: 3cb1e0151afe248b9ba294f46a4eaea9.jpg][Image: 27e14a58bb4ba78739495b5714e0b687.jpg][Image: ace79e15dabeed27029de85527003e26.jpg][Image: 2518cbb830789bbb9f604b35ea39b6e2.jpg]

Thanks for the nice write up and great pictures.  I've always been tempted to get an adjustable slant.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this beautiful razor.

Forgive my ignorance, but what are the other adjustable slant razors?

If I'm not mistaken, I think that the Rex Konsul is the only adjustable slant razor.

At least, that is the only one in machined stainless steel as Rex is the first cie to make a machined one.

I didn't realize that this is the only adjustable slant.  I imagine that machining these razors is a difficult process.

I believe that's correct - the Rex is the sole example of an adjustable slant.  As a lover of both adjustables & slants it has a certain appeal, I've not pulled that trigger though for a couple/three reasons .. as someone mentioned, it is priced pretty high .. and my earlier experience with another Rex model wasn't terribly positive.

I would second a very positive Konsul experience, the design is an awesome performer, and the knurling is grippy, but not gritty like the Ambassador.  It is very smooth and generally forgiving across a fairly wide range of gaps.  My top two were the Taiga (best overall efficiency/modest blade feel) then the Konsul (equal efficiency, a touch more blade feel).  I'm on day 2 with  a Sailor, so we shall see.

HLS was teasing a Taiga slant, but obviously...
