Now chaps, I know this is a wet shaving forum, however, I am taking the liberty to show you a wonderful (bakelite-cased) item I acquired here in Sydney today: The Gillette Dry Shaver, 1938. I have never seen one before, but only a reference in an advert in Mr Razor's collection: https://mr-razor.com/Werbung/C%201938%20...Shaver.jpg

The shaver has a USA plug, so I can only hope it wasn't plugged in directly to an Australian socket, and it got fried. I will acquire an adapter to test it out (110V US/230V AUD).

The nice thing is that it is a complete set: shipper, instructions, mirror (not me in the reflection!), everything.

Seems I might need to get a step down power converter, not just a US to AUD converter travel plug. Getting expensive  Sad Or just have the whole thing to look at Smile

I have seen others now, but none as in such good condition as this, complete with shipper, etc. Nice.

To my great astonishment, the parcel arrived with an extra OUTER shipper, as pictured, with the serial number. Inside the very inner container, there were two original blade-cleaning brushes (and the oil) but also the original Gillette "screwdriver"; underneath the instructions sheet was a redeeming coupon, with the same serial number. Just got better and better. Also, the device runs at 9 Watts, for those interested.
