Well, thanks for the welcome. First post I did was my introduction. Definitely looking forward to hearing some tips.

A good brushing (done carefully) should get most of the grunge. When I collected vintage razors that was my primary method of cleaning. The staining is going to be problematic in that if you use any sort of cleaning agent especially liquid you run the risk of further discolouration. There's also the concern of age and brittleness in the materials themselves. Hopefully someone else chimes in as well. Good luck and welcome.

I recently did an old type brownie case in a $60 ultrasonic cleaner with only warm water for 90 seconds.
I didn’t allow any of the lettering in the water or for the water to be high enough to “soak up” to the lettering.
I used the plastic bin.
I did a quick rinse to get the dirt out after.
Soaked up the excessive water with paper towels quickly and air dried. Came ok pretty good. Could see it causing issues potentially with certain cases but wouldn’t hesitate to do it again.
