I'm a synthetic brush user. Ive pretty much used the same three brushes for 12+ years. No problem with them I just want to try my hand at re-knotting.
My question: What  are the top synthetic knots out now?

Not much has changed in regards to synthetics. Mainly more colors available. The G7 is pretty popular and a solid performing knot.

I've been using synthetics primarily for the past several years.  For me, the two best production synthetic brushes are the Simpson "Synthetic Bristle" (Platinum Grade) and the Muhle STF.  The Simpson Sovereign Grade is also excellent, although I would rate it slightly lower than the Platinum Grade.  The Edwin Jagger synthetic brushes also use the Muhle STF knots.

Ricardo, Edwin Jagger started using their own in-house fibre knots some time back.

I was not aware of that, Jagdeep.  Thanks for letting me know.

I'm looking for a supplier for a synthetic replacement knot to do a refurb. I looked at the Walds and the G7s.
The Golden Nib has some as well, and I was wondering if any here have used one of theirs, and if so what do you think?
Thanks,
Roger

You should get in touch with Rudy as he can make a custom brush for you with a muhle stf knot.

I see the Muhle STF knots available from the AP Shave Co are 23 mm and 25 mm, and the glue base for each is about 14 mm in depth (much larger depth than other knots I have seen).  Anyone have experience using these knots for replacements?  I'm interested in knowing diameter and depth of bore hole used.  I'm looking forward to trying one.

Also, anyone have experience with the Shavemac synthetic?  I have a 26 mm and, in my limited experience, it is very nice.
