I am looking for the following, all preferably with the longer Grande handle:

The original R89 (The closed bar head made by Fatip) made until 2008

The Original R41 (The open comb head made by Fatip) made until 2008

The second R41 (The open comb head made by Merkur) 2009-2010 FOUND

Doug - I have an R89 with closed head, purchased new in September 2010. I have no idea if it is a Fatip head; it was what was on there when purchased. I would describe the handle as heavy, well knurled, and longer than a Super Speed. Would you like to see a picture? Please advise.

I have a new R89 Grande that I bought two weeks ago and used twice. I will sell for $40 shipped CONUS.

Thanks,
Peter

Peter, I am not looking for a current model, but thanks for the offer.

A pic or two of the head would be awesome.

Oops sorry - didn't read the complete post. How does the version you're looking for compare to recent models?

I honestly cannot answer the question regarding the older R89 except to say the head was made by Fatip.

As far as the two older R41 razors, the oldest was a long comb model made by Fatip (very much like the current production Fatip OC) and the middle one is very much like a Gillette Old or Merkur OC. I believe the head was actually made by Merkur.

Here are the pictures I promised. Handle has barber-pole knurling, and is longer than a Super Speed.

Thanks Craig. Can I get a couple pics of the head? I cannot tell if this is the current or older head from the top pic.

Thanks, Doug.
