Yes, you read that right! I want an Ipod 4th gen. The old white one, with the greyscale screen.

I'd go for an ipod photo as well.

I happen to think that these were the best designed ones - classic look, and I want one again. It has to be in working order. Some of you guys have to have neglected ones kicking around in a drawer somewhere.

I'm also interested in an ipod touch for my wife, but that's secondary.

For trade, I have a big selection of razors, brushes, straights hones, etc. Let me know what you want.

Cheers.

Best of luck. I'd hit pawn shops etc to find one if you can't turn one up online. Keep in mind that most any of them will have battery issues due to age but a battery shouldn't be too hard to replace.

Battery replacement is not an issue for me. Even hard-disk replacement is not too much of a problem. I pretty much expect the batteries to be close to dead. Still, I love that design. :-)

I've got a 5th gen and love it. I'll be completely upset if they do away with the click wheel, too hard to use the touch versions while driving and too dangerous!

I love my iPod but miss the click wheel. I also miss the day when my iPod just played music.

Yep, that's why I like my 5th gen, just pretty much music, and I can click to the next track without taking the eyes off the road. They just came out with new iPod touch and shuffle, so if the original iPod gets switched to touch screen, I'm off to buy the last click wheel version.

I have an old gen ipod which I never use.
Is there a quick way to tell which gen/rev it is?

Wikipedia has a list with photos of all the models.

I don't want to go earlier than the 4th Gen on the classic iPod, but the mini may be interesting.
