Both handles are very beautiful , but I truly like the Duke 3 better.

A LE M&F? Do you mean that only one was made?Biggrin

Biggrin Cool Biggrin

No, but as hard as Lee Sabini is to get in contact with and since they are not sold in any store officially, they are Limited Edition - and more so than Semogue LE 2011 IMHO Wink

Not sure Lee has even made 10 of these, so YES! it surely is a limited edition Cool

Claus,

Congratulations on such fine brushes.

If you asked me to select a favorite, I'd select the M&F.
But both are truly outstanding.

Beautiful brushes!

I'd ask you to post your impressions of your new brushes but with all the brushes you've had coming in recently, it will probably take you weeks to sort them out. Biggrin

I know it's not real butterscotch color but I can't stop staring at them. Perfect! I'd just carry one with me all the time ...or maybe two if I feel really naughty Biggrin

Beautiful brushes Claus.

Don't forget to post a review of these, that Butterscotch Chubby 2 Manchurian that's on it's way too you, is going to add to your already fine stable.

WoW Mark - holy cow, what a lovely bunch of ButterScotch Dudes....sorry I mean Dukes Tongue BadgerBadgerBadgerBadger

Also a really interesting photo, because you see all 4 hair type next to each other lined up and in the same brush model.
This photo is a keeper, and I hope you don't mind that I download it to my computer and use it as a reference over how the shape and look of the 4 different high grades of Simpson badger hair vary.

You can clearly see that 2-Band hair tend to have a more bulb like shape, while Manchurian looks slimmer and more strong and rugged - all this pre bloom of course.
Post bloom I will expect Manchurian to bloom almost as much as the 3-Band Super & Best hair will. 2-Band looks like it might have a larger bloom, but looks deceive, because my 2 Simpson 2-Bands blooms 30-40% LESS than the same model in Super 3-Band and Best Hair will tend do.

I truly enjoy the dark shaded butterscotch you use in your Simpson brushes - it's a joy to finally have added one to my brush collection Cool

Will do so, my friend Smile

My Chubby 2 in 2-Band is still my overall favorite brush, and it was my 5.th brush purchase back in May 2012. A lot of brushes have run under the bridge since that - and I find myself enjoying my SBAD quite a good deal more than I anticipated.
It's a pleasure to be in contact with some of the finest brush manufacturers on this earth - to hear their insight and expert opinions on brush manufacturing just makes this little hobby even more interesting and just plain good fun Biggrin

I love the Chubby 2 handle - it simply fits perfect into my large to X-Large hands a tiny bit better than the Duke 3 handle. The M&F handle in the picture is really not a true Stubby 2XL size, but rather an in between size of the 1XL and the 2XL handles. Sort of like a hybrid of the Chubby 1 and Chubby 2 handle (Chubby 1 is 40 mm tall while Chubby 2 is 45 mm tall - the M&F Stubby handle in my M&F butterscotch is 43 mm tall)

I WILL buy a Chubby 3 in 2-Band butterscotch later, when Mark and his employees have the time to produce one (I guess they are working very hard to get the 'Christmas brushes' ready for November and December sale right now).....and that handle will be a bit on the larger side for me, but I already love the Rooney Heritage Stubby 3XL handle size and that handle is on par size wise with the Chubby 3 handle Smile

I think it is the traditional Super 3-Band - he names it Silvertip badger in the limited edition Duke's, but I think it's the same as the Super 3-Band.

I could be wrong though since I'm merely guessing away here...... Wink

While I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing Simpson silvertip, Mark says its softer & more backbone? can't recall what the other feature is, but he said it's softer.

Hello Mark,

Best, Super & Manchurian I understand.

Where stands the new Silvertip Badger in the Simpsons range ?

Is Super Badger in the Limited Editions 2 band ?
And Silvertip 3 band ?

4 beautiful brushes Smile

Regards,
Eelco

Hi Eelco,

Our Simpson Super brushes are effectively Silvertips, as such we name them to client request.

Periodically we receive batches of finer Silvertip which we offer in LE brushes and customs.

Our Best grade would be considered / labelled Silvertip by a lot of other brush producers.

We label our two band as Super or Silvertip as directed by customers.

Best regards,

Mark
